Antique Radio Restoration
Antique Radio Restoration
I have two vintage radios that have been in our family. My aunt bought them brand new in the 1930's. They are a Grunou Model 460 and an Atwater Kent Model 72. They are complete with the original owner's manuals. I know nothing about radios, but they have a lot of sentimental value. I would like to find someone I would pay who could restore the cabinets and repair the electronics to operable condition. I'm not sure if this is the correct subject location for this post, but any help to find someone to do this would be greatly appreciated. I live in the town of Brisbane in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Thank you,
Matt

Be aware that such restorations will likely be very expensive as a lot of labor is involved - they could cost $500 or more each for someone who charges my bench rate (I am not in the running as I live in an eastern state).

Yes...I am aware that it would be expensive. I was thinking it might be up to $2000 for both radios. I'm just having a difficult time finding someone out here on the West Coast.

You can contact SCARS, the southern California Antique Radio society at https://antiqueradios.org/ . Although its in the lower part of CA they may be able to suggest someone in your area.
