Electro model P Battery eliminator
Electro model P Battery eliminator
Hi, does anyone know very much about this item? I have a schematic. Replaced caps and im reading 164 V when I should be reading 90V . Nothing hooked up. Does it need a load to read correctly. I replaced all caps. One big strange cap installed. I believe its 1000MF , red , grn, and black wires going to it. I assume its electrolytic , but the schematic is vague on this. Thanks, Jim

Yes, they need loading, and to test how much loading they'll need you can sub in resistors in place of a radio until you get to a voltage that makes you happy. Some ohms law calcs will tell you if the radio will be safe.

Thanks John for the info. Further troubleshooting , and I dont have my 1.4 V "A" output. Nothing coming out of the rectifier. The rectifier in the schematic is confusing, looks like full wave, but both outputs coming out of the + sides of the rectifier. Do you have a schematic of this to look at? Thanks, Jim
