[solved]Schematic for Webcor Pixi phonograph

I am looking for a schematic diagram for a Webcor Pixi phonograph.  It has a single 25L6GT tube amp.  One of the resistor has burnt and I need the schematic to see what the value is.  The case is red/white textured covering.

Welcome to TRF.
The Webcor made this simple machine using a single tube 25L6 as a simple audio amplifier. A selenium rectifier made the direct voltage to the amplifier stage. The usual amount of voltage was usually around 90-95 volts. The problem is the rectifier is usually shorted out.
Further, the cartridge is a simple 3V cartridge.
My feeling is you should know if you want to spend the money, and, time restoring it.They generally have a nic sound to them, but, they aint no hi-fi.

In the way of a suggestion, you might check to see if you have B+ anywhere in the amplifier. Is the resistor just burned from dropping voltage and running hot or is it burned in two? Have you checked it with an ohm meter? If you have B+, that would be obvious that the selenium rectifier would not be shorted. I don't believe you have enough information to sustain that theory. The resistor you reference may be in the heater string. If so, it drops lots of voltage and will run pretty hot. Do some investigation before you come to any conclusions. You can use Ohms' Law to figure out which resistor you need if you know what circuit it is in. That amplifier is basic, so it should not take much to figure it out. If the cartridge is bad, you can substitute something newer many times to get the record player up and running if you choose to go that route.

It was common to put a 90 volt motor in series with the 25 volt filament of the tube. It was common for the rectifier to short out, and, burn a resistor usually in series with the high AC line.

I found this schematic on line. It's for a Webcor F-136-1.   I don't know if the "Pixie" has a model number other then the name, but maybe this is close enough to get you started?

Thank you guys for the information. I will check the resistor value against the schematic diagram. The burnt resistor is burnt in two. The resistor comes off the rectifier so I will check the rectifier.

I tried to attach a picture of the circuit but the website will not let me.  Any hints as to how to attach a picture?

As per the picture that John so graciously posted for me the resistor coming off the rectifier has burnt in two. I am not sure what the value is as the color bands are burnt.  I also plan on replacing the capacitors as well. Any hint on the value of the burnt resistor?

The schematic that I posted is close but not exactly the same.

It's difficult to see the colours clearly, but it "looks" like orange-violet-black ?? That would be 37 ohms? Any chance of a closer photo of the resistor with no flash glare on it?

It looks to me like the burnt resistor comes off one terminal of the rectifier. Could it be R4 in the diagram, 47 ohms?

Here is another picture of the resistor without some of the glare on it.

It's really hard to say, but it looks like :
1 - orange - 3
2 - brown - 1
3 - black or brown x1 or x10

So ... 31 or 310 ohms?

The schematic I found is not really close so I'm going to remove it unless you think it still helps a bit anyway.

The surge resistor is usually a low value so 31 sounds reasonable. A 33 would be easier to find for a replacement, The value is not that critical. The main purpose is to protect the selenium. Replace the filter electrolytics and the other capacitors and check and replace any out of spec resistors and it should work fine.

Thanks you guys for the information.  I will go with the 33 ohm value, replace the caps and check the other resistor values.  I'll let you know how the restoration goes.
