Winamp
Has anyone on here had any experience with this software? It has been recommended as an alternative to Windows Media Player. It is available as a free download. From what I understand, this is another Microsoft product, so I'm not sure if there would actually be a benefit. If I am going to deal with Microsoft in any case, I'd just as well put up with WMP, that I already know and somewhat understand.

Re: Winamp
Seems like I remember hearing about it. I don't remember ever using it unless it was years ago. I use Itunes on apple, and I think either the windows media player or realplayer on windows environment. The more I try new programs the more I like the older simpler programs. It use to be you downloaded a program and it worked great. Now days you try it, then you pay this big price only to realize its worse than you are trying to replace.

Re: Winamp
That's what concerns me as well. Sony has a music management program that is $300 and you need to be a sound engineer to run it. I believe I will just tinker with Media Player and try to get it back up running again.

Re: Winamp
I had gotten it about 10-12 years ago to work with Mp3 files. I found it to be redundant to WMP. I guess this info is redundant if your WMP is working all right now.

I processed eight LP's and so far, so good. I guess it must be fixed. I feel like an idiot going thru all the drama for a simple fix. If it happens again, I'll probably forget what I did to fix it......

Re: Winamp
I have been running a set of Peavey 18" studio speakers, powered by my Pioneer SX-1050. The Peaveys were fairly industrial looking and my wife disliked them in the house. I sold those about a month ago to a local country band. They can use them to cause hearing damage in the local watering holes......
I am using a set of Fisher 15" three-way towers that my wife likes better. They sound pretty good, but they are not NEARLY as much fun as the Peaveys were.....

Good idea! Now, where did I put that note?.....
Actually, I have a "note to self" document that I can't lose very easily. I put handy tips there for safekeeping. My wife knows where they are, too.

No notes is the guy giving you a fish. Notes are when you learn how to fish.
