Re: Philco 38-620
I am not sure of what you are needing the color for? To match the wood to fill in a missing piece? Anyway when I redo a case I like this that was suggested to me. I had a couple I have redone the finish recently. I will strip off the bad finish if it can't be saved. Then I use the lacquer that is in a spray can. It seems to go on good and leaves a good finish. One of the radios I redid I had to make the top for it. I made the top then darkened the new wood. When I got it as similar as I could I then went over the entire case with a light stain. It seemed to mix together good. Considering how bad the case was I think it turned out decent. Someone had nailed it together with nails that had big heads instead of some type of finishing nail
. I had to fix the "repair " as well.

Re: Philco 38-620
The walnut finnish cabinets were done in medium brown walnut. Some trim parts tended to be done in a darker stain, sometimes black.
