My father, with a bad heart, served in the army during WW11 as a jeep, and, tank mechanic. Unfortunately, he had a bad heart attack in 1943, and, was honorably discharged....
That heart plagued him to his death in 1961, at the ripe old age of 52.
I have the JL Hudson's employee magazine after the war that shows their employees that served in the war. It shows his picture wearing his uniform. My father sold luggage on the 5th floor at their downtown store in Detroit, and, on the 3rd floor of their Eastland store in Harper Woods Mich.
I miss him to this day......

My father was a Merchant Seaman. He had heart trouble too and passed at 59 in 1978 shortly after I started a 4 year overseas tour in Germany. It is good to have a dad good enough to miss. Mine did his best for me with the time he had.
