Surefire Eico147A function test
Surefire Eico147A function test
A few years ago I found at a hamfest I bought an Eico 147A Signal tracer sans RF probe. I replaced all the paper caps and the 12AV7 tube. But here's my problem and I'll admit I don't know too much: how do I test the tracing function without a probe? I have made a probe (even when to the trouble of using an actual 1N48 diode) but I'm not sure it is working.. I guess I am trying to rule out the Tracer itself as the failure. I will admit the wattmeter section of the tester is unresponsive but that is for another post. any help is greatly appreciated & I thank you very much.

Re: Surefire Eico147A function test
Welcome to TRF. First of all, there is no way I know of to use test equipment without the proper test leads. I'm not familiar with thiis particular unit, but, I know you must have the correct test leads. They could be made, but, you will need a schematic to know what needs to be in them.
There are on line mannuals for Eico equipment, but, I don't remember the link.
Can anybody help here?
